Soil | For outdoor planting – well drained, sandy loam soil with pH value 6.5 – 6.8 is most suitable. Hibiscus can be grown in a large container in outdoor garden also.
When grown as potted houseplant, use well drained, aerated, loamy, organic matter enriched potting medium GrowpoT–H. Sterilised to reduce the risk of fungal infection & root rot. pH value 6.5 – 6.8. |

Pruning | Pruning of hibiscus is essential to maintain the height & shape of the plant. | |||||
Light | For outdoor planting in hot bright sunlight – grow well in partial or light shade conditions. For outdoor planting in cooler climate – grow well in full sun.
When grown as potted houseplant, place the plant under indirect or diffused light. Best to place the plant near an east or south-east facing window, at balcony or even at roof top under partial shade. NOTE: If the plant is not producing flower sufficiently, move from sunny location to shady or vice-versa. So a little trial may be required. |
|||||
Irrigation | Hibiscus tropical varieties are thirsty plant, so watering should be regular & thorough. During the hot dry season, it can take twice a day watering.
For tap water, preserve the water 24 hrs to minimise the presence of salts, chlorine, fluoride etc. |
